Add “Take Ownership” to Explorer Right-Click Menu in Win 7 or Vista

by DZ — Categories: How GeneralLeave a comment

Taking ownership of system files or folders in Windows 7 or Vista is not a simple task. Whether you use the GUI or the command line, it takes far too many steps.

Thankfully somebody created a registry hack that will give you a menu item for “Take Ownership” that will handle all the steps for you.  (If you are the person that originally made this script, let me know and I’ll give you credit)

Here’s what the new right-click menu will look like

Solved – Godaddy Email – Step one Get Google Apps

by DZ — Categories: How To, Internet — Tags: , , , , 72 Comments

**Guide Updated on Jun 8th, 2012.

The most common issue that I run into with Godaddy is their email system. For the lowest service you are only allowed to send out 250 emails a day, each email is considered a "Relay SMTP sent email". Once you go past that, well you can't send out email again until it resets sometime in the evening. Another common issue is not being able to receive emails, and various pop3 and imap issues.

So to summarize what this article is about, it's how to switch over to a much better email server, which is Google Apps Standard which is free to use and easy to setup, effectively getting rid of Godaddys email relay problem and various issues with email receiving problems. I promise this fix does not mess with with php email script, such as WordPress sending out user confirmation emails.

Here is the walk through – Complete with pictures. This is very easy to do just takes a small amount of time.

So lets start from the beginning. Registration

  1. Sign up for Google Apps Free Standard Addition – Link Updated on 5-29-09
  2. Put in your domain Name – No you are not transferring your domain, this is just branding your email address to your website example – you@yourwebsite.com. You don't have to fill in the organization info unless you really want to

Rooting Nook Tablet 1.1 and 1.2 – The Only Way That Worked For Me

by DZ — Categories: Android OS, Fixes1 Comment

nook root(1) Rooting Nook Tablet 1.1 and 1.2 The Only Way That Worked For MeI am a proud owner of a fully rooted nook tablet, but it was only after a days worth of time trying to find a method that would accomplish the first stage of rooting the nook tablet which is getting the tablet to boot into CWM so you can then update and unlock the android software.

This post is an easy to follow and quick way to Root your Nook Tablet so that you can then proceed to get the most out of your tablet. I wish I could give kudos to the creator of the CWM Boot Image that finally worked, but unfortunately I had downloaded well over 10+ images in a desperate attempt to get my Nook to recognize the card and boot to CWM. If you are the creator or know who the creator is, please let me know so I can give them some credit for creating this complete rooting image.

*If you have a 16gb Nook Tablet, I recommend going to a Barnes & Noble store before rooting and talking to a tech to get the storage amount increased so you have maximum storage space on your Nook. If you don't you will soon find out that the Nook dedicates an unusually large amount of disk space to the downloading of content from the Barnes & Noble app store.

DeJunkit Service – Website Review 2 – Traffic to Customers

by DZ — Categories: Website ReviewLeave a comment

Dejunkit Review service for http://www.cactusrose.com.au

1. Home page – Images are rotating way to fast, slow them down by about 4 seconds so customers can actually see the images and the items and can take in the products you have to offer.

2. Get rid of the categories that have no products in them, if a customer gets a page with no product, they will assume that other categories they might be interested in will have no products. So make sure you always show categories with products in them. Customers are very fickle and it will frustrate them if they click on a menu tab expecting to see something but end up with nothing to look at and consequently have to go back to the previous or home page.

3. What are the colored squares next to the prices under the product pictures in the categories? If they are important, tell people exactly what they represent, if they are not important, remove them, they just add confusion and seem to be unnecessary. (assume it has something to do with the color choices for the items) (more…)

by DZ — Categories: Fixes, How GeneralLeave a comment

Press This is a very handy feature of WordPress blogging, but the problem is, it has a tenancy to show up a 404 page error when you click it. After a bit of searching around I found a fix for the 404 issue and it is a very simple to implement and involves changing the bookmark code.

In the bookmark coding find the following code part

u='+e(l.href)+'

And change it to

u='+e(l.href.replace(/\//g,'\\/'))+'

Props to qvprof for the fix which was found at the following link - Press This 404 issue.

Dejunkit Review service for http://Rebelliousaddictiontwo.com/

  1. Meta Title has no keywords which means no seo ranking at all for the website – Need to fix this for traffic. Currently your meta title is Rebellious Addiction Two Home. The Title carries the most weight SEO wise for your ranking and it needs to have a keyword or two ( I do SEO, SEM, and Marketing analysis for many clients who run successful e-commerce websites ). If you need help with your keywords please let me know, if you are managing your seo or someone else is, please alert them to fix it ASAP.

  1. When you enlarge product images you have to double click to get out of it, click the x, then click again to close the secondary image that comes up. The secondary image is massive most of the time. Example link – http://rebelliousaddictiontwo.com/hot-lips.html – This is happening in chrome and firefox.

  2. The pink buttons are too big design wise and need to be brought down to about 2/3rd of the size. You will be able to fix more categories above the fold and you will be bring them closer together. (more…)

How To Fix – Google Webmaster Tools Detected Unnatural Links

by DZ — Categories: E-commerce, SEO — Tags: 2 Comments

Ah the most recent dreaded message of Google Webmasters – “Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links to … enter your website address here”. When you receive this message you're essentially notified that Google believes you are gaming the SERP results with use of highly optimized backlinks. As a result, Google will slap on a penalty to your website that will take approximately 3 to 5 weeks and will kill your ranking for the keywords they believe you have been building links for.
