How To Prevent Firefox Google Search Redirect – Clickcheck.ru

PrintPrint Friendly

I have had this very annoying problem happening with Firefox for the last couple weeks. Whenever I did a search using Google, I would have some links that would redirect me to clickcheck.ru and then I would be redirected to an Advertising website.

Permanent Fix for Clickcheck.ru – Thanks to EefJe

You can click on the link below to go to GeeksToGo Forum that has the Fix posted. Just remember to flush out your DNS entries after you have fixed the problem.

How To Flush out DNS Entries

1. Start Menu – Run
2. Type in cmd for command prompt
3. Type in ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

That’s All

Quick Overview – How To Fix the Redirect Issue

To fix this Firefox redirect problem you need to download GooredFix and save it to your computer ( Desktop preferred ).

  1. Open Up GooredFix and press 1 then Enter to Find Goored (No Fix)

  2. Once it is completed a log file is shown on screen. If it the log shows suspected Goored Entries, then Close the screen.

  3. Open up GooredFix again, then type in 2, and press enter.

This will remove the Clickcheck.ru and other firefox hijacking issues. Again, remember to Flush out your DNS entries as soon as you have finished with Gooredfix.

  • Lol, I agree to some extent. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox so many times trying to get rid of Clickcheck.ru. I have also removed all my add-ons and I still can't get rid of it. So I am at a loss as to what or how I got it and how to completely remove it.

But I still use Firefox because I like Fireftp, Google Toolbar (wish this was in Chrome), and Ad Block Plus. But for most of my surfing, I am using chrome more than anything else.

    Your welcome Djames

I looked on the internet for days for a solution and I was also so pleased I found this link in another forum. When you search with google youcannot find it. All forums are talking about the redirect problem but none of the technical people have a solution. I also cannot reply on threats to help people because I not a 'technical member'. So I'm glad to help you here!
