How To Get New or Updated Meta Tags In To Search Engines – Fast

by DZ — Categories: Blogging, How To, Internet, SEO3 Comments

It is well known in the seo world that if you change your meta tags two things can happen. Number 1, It can takes weeks for Google and other search engines to update your new titles and descriptions and during that time. Number 2, it is possible to lose all ranking until search engines update their website information (Note: this only occurs if search engines think the website is a new website with different content).

Through a lot of years of doing Search engine optimization I have learned the fastest way to get Google to update your websites information with the shortest possible wait time. The trick is very easy to do, you just resubmit your sitemaps(or submit your sitemap for the first time.. for people who have not made a sitemap) in Google webmaster and Bing Webmaster.

If you do not already have a webmaster account, then go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and create an account. Once you create an account and login and then go through the website verification processes, you will see a list of websites you have added to the webmaster website. (more…)

What is more important, Social Networking or Linkbuilding?

by DZ — Categories: Blogging, E-Commerce, Internet, SEO2 Comments

Thought I would share this email communication I had with one of my clients.

It is an indicator of how confusing it is for people to understand exactly what social networking is, how it can perform for them and what it can do for them, in conjunction with other web marketing tools available today and the escalating curve of what can be done in the future.

But is social networking or link building viable and is it necessary for every website after traffic and ultimately customers?

Client:

“We still haven’t received the check we need to pay for link building and I’m still not convinced it’s doing much good.  The numbers / graphs I run don’t show its effectiveness and last year the backlink building ranking position was guaranteed but this year they don’t. I’ve been interviewing social marketers to see if there is a better way to spend our money. We’ll see”

My Response:

I was hoping to get some time to go over this with you and explain how things work with social networking. I am going to save you a lot of brain damage and money which is a result of talking and working with social marketers.

I have interviewed over a hundred or more social networking “gurus” and builders in the last 6 months, trying to find one that actually had an idea of what social networking is and one that didn't charge huge fees for little return. (more…)

For websites that’s not using wordpress, you will need a database and the ability to add in Javascript or php and from there the installation process is automated, even offers a web install. I plan on using this software for a few Joomla and Zencart websites I run, because I have been unsatisfied with the ad manager components currently available.

Quick Overview

Do I recommend using the Ad manager software from OIOpublisher?

The Review Of Ad Manager by OIOPublisher and why you need it for your website or blog.

WordPress Themes – What Sidebar Style To Use? Left, Right or Both?

by — Categories: Blogging, E-Commerce, How To, Internet — Tags: , 1 Comment

wordpress sidebar layout Wordpress Themes – What Sidebar Style To Use? Left, Right or Both?If you have low end, cheap hosting package, then the simple answer is, go with right sidebars.

If you have a high end host then it doesn’t matter, but I still recommend going with a right sidebar. Scroll down to see why I recommend using right sidebars for a blog, without the technical reasons.

Technical reason for using right sidebars, instead of left sidebars.

When browsers are loading up a website they process coding from top to bottom.

On a typical website, the first area loaded is the Header or the top area. Then afterwards it loads the body of the website, then the footer.

The body area is typically programmed as a large box, with several small boxes inside of it which are programmed using Tables or CSS.

Typical body coding forces a browser to load up the left sidebar box, then the content box, and then the right sidebar box. After the rightbar is loaded, then the footer area is loaded and displayed. (more…)

How To Stream MP4 On A Website – H.264 High Def

by — Categories: Blogging, How To, Internet — Tags: 25 Comments

I recently started doing High Definition videos for one of my customers, and I ran into a problem with mp4 files streaming on websites. What was happening was the mp4 file had to download in full before it would start playing. Come to find out, the metadata for an mp4 is located in the back of the video file information, and the video will not play until it reaches the metadata information.

I found a program that moves the metadata information from the back of the mp4 file to the front, so that the file will start playing instantly and stream on a website, instead of waiting to start until the entire video is downloaded. This program is really easy to use, and works extremely fast, all you have to do is open the program up in a Windows OS, open the folder the movie file sits in and press edit all files in the lower left, then wait for it to work, takes a minute or less of time, and then you are done. Now the metadata is at the front of the mp4 file and it will play instantly without having to download the entire video file.

Download the program from this website.
