  • PageRank Sharing SEO Tactics

    6

This article is geared towards PageRank and how to share the rank with other pages through proper hyperlink use and how it works.

Every SEO expert talks about relevant keywords and Anchor text, and if your website is relevant to the website linking to your page, you will get PageRank sharing with your website. But most people think relevant is, oh look this page is about homes, and since my page is about selling homes, this must be relevant. Sadly this is not how it works.  An easy way to see if a website is relevant to yours, is to check the websites Keywords and Description. If none of the keywords or description keywords match what you type in the hyper-link to your page, you will not get an increase or sharing of PageRank.

Note – It is still good for you to pick websites that are similar to yours to get a link from. Chances are, if a person is on a website about homes, they will most likely click on another link about homes. This way you will actually get visitors from the page instead of just some PageRank. » Read the rest of the entry..

  • Overlooked Little BIG Tips for SEO and Traffic

    5

Authors Note – When I say Social Bookmarking websites, I do not mean websites like Digg, Propeller, Slashdot, etc, only submit articles to these places, submitting just a website will get you banned. Only submit / add your website once to bookmarking websites, not multiple times, there is no gain from this, except a ban.

    1. Submit your main website to social book marking places and make your bookmarks public.

So many people with blogs over look this. I know of several websites that have every article on their website social bookmarked, but they forgot to bookmark the most important one, their main page.

These simple bookmark websites on the internet are insanely powerful for traffic. Each bookmark, that is public, will be indexed by search engines, so as a result you will get multiple search engine pages with your website. A very nice side effect of this is that most of the listings will be not be omitted by search engines as other relevant listings; instead you can expect to get multiple listings on a search engine, instead of just one listing, or the indented listing which shows only two links to people searching the web. A good example, if you type in Howbits on google you will see multiple results for my website from other websites, and most are social bookmarking places.

So my recommendations are to come up with a good description about your website, your popular tags, and submit it to social book marking websites. Make sure your profile is shared via public, and not private, I have seen some people go through this process and forget to make their profile public.

On a side note, when you have these book marking websites linking to you, the search engines checks the tags from these websites that you have entered and conclude that since you have the same tags on your website AND on the bookmark to your website, that these tags must be important for your website, so it will give you a increase on keyword ranking in search engines. You can do this for each page on your website that you want traffic to get to.

At the bottom of this post I will put a list of common book marking websites; there are tens of hundreds of websites like these out there. Make sure to utilize them so they work in your favor, this means use good tags, and descriptions. » Read the rest of the entry..

  • Solid Advice For Any Business

    0

Today I was cleaning up my desk, in an attempt to organize it, and I found an article that I pulled out of a Reader’s Digest a few months ago. At the time I had no blog and no place to write about this article, so I kept it, in hopes of some day having a place where I could give it the attention it deserved and needed.

The article was titled, The Roofer’s Son, and it starts off talking about Ken Hendricks and how he dropped out of high school to work for his dad and became a billionaire. It sounds like the start of another rags to riches generic story, about a guy with luck and did something that no one else could do, right? Wrong. Ken Hendricks gives some amazing advice about how to run a business, from the single employee business to the 1000+ employee business. The insights about how and why his business, ABC Supply, is worth billions, is priceless in terms of value. » Read the rest of the entry..

  • Using Social News Websites

Must Read article on How To Use Social News Sites

Found this great article through stumbleupon. It goes into detail about the pro’s and con’s of the many article submitting websites. The article has some good insights about what to expect, and the type of traffic you get from each website. I 100% agree with him about reddit and stumbleupon, the readers that come through these websites are usually solid. They stick around and check out the website and turn out to be loyal visitors. I also want to add another website that has been good to me, and that is Fark

Digg readers on the other hand, come to a website to read the article, then promptly leave. If you are going to be submitting to Digg, you need to be know that they are not bashful about giving their opinions about a post, website, author, etc. So as the article says, if you are going to be posting there, you need to have thick skin. But if you do hang in there and if by some divine intervention, extreme luck, voodoo magic, etc,  you end up on the front pages, you can expect massive traffic. The Digg effect is nothing to sneeze at, it’s a host killer for good reason because of the traffic you receive.

Other Services Not listed in the article

Newsvine is great, but you are not allowed to submit your own articles. You get one warning then you are banned, so don’t do it.

Propeller is so/so, I have yet to see any good traffic from Propeller, the only reason most of my articles get submitted there is through Socialmarker. If it wasn’t for socialmarker I would not use go to the website. Just my opinion though.

Mixx has brought some good traffic to my website, easy to use, and the traffic that comes from there stays and reads other articles.

Things to do before you post and advertise your blog, and what to do after it’s up and running, such as getting traffic and using Adsense.

In howbits fashion, I made this simple to understand, for maximum usability. I even added the easiest and best tricks to get great traffic, just don’t abuse the tricks. If you are here to get the traffic tips, just scroll down to – Advice for Getting Traffic.

    First Thing To Do

This is a big step – get Feedburner setup for you website, ASAP. Make your RSS buttons easy to see so people can subscribe. I have several new visitors who stop in for a few seconds, click the RSS button and leave, namely people from Digg. If you are using WordPress, you need to get the plugin Feedburner Feedsmith. This will make sure that all your subscribers are going through Feedburner and not the default RSS feed in WordPress.

Make sure to have a good list of RSS buttons available for people to choose from. The fastest and easiest way to do this is by going to http://www.toprankblog.com/tools/rss-buttons/ and making your buttons. Make sure at step 2, you set it to default and use your Feedburner URL. To get your feed address, just go to feedburner.com, log into your account. In the top left you will see something that says My Feeds, once you click on it, click on the feed you want to use. Once the page loads up, look under the feed name and click on Edit Feed Details. On this screen you will see the address for you feed. The feed address will look something like this – http://feeds.feedburner.com/your-feed-name

    Before You Post

If you are using WordPress, I recommend to not get banned for multiple pings. Did you know that every time you go back into an article and fix or change something, it pings the blog sites. So this will result in your post getting banned. To combat this, I recommend downloading MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. It monitors your posting and makes sure you don’t get banned because of multiple pings. Once you publish an article, it sends out one ping, and then every time you go back into that article to change it, it does not ping anymore. » Read the rest of the entry..

humor 1 Optimizing The Windows Registry

Optimizing the Registry Computer Optimizing in Layman Terms

    Page Defrag + NTRegOpt

Supported Windows – Vista, XP, 2003, 2000, NT

I bet some of you just did a double take, and said, Optimizing the what, and why?

So on that note, first things first, is to explain what the Registry is, and why it needs to be optimized and defragged. The Windows registry is a directory which stores settings and options for the operating system for Microsoft Windows(all verisons). It contains information and settings for all the hardware, operating system use, software and programs, users and preferences of the PC, etc. Whenever a user makes changes to Control Panel settings, file associations, system policies, installs or unistalls software, the changes are reflected and stored in the registry. The registry is constantly in use, and because of this, it gets bogged down easily. The effect of this will cause your computer to slow down. Whenever windows does anything such as starts up, opens a programs, goes on the internet, etc, it will read the registry and then process the action. So the bigger the registry file the more time it takes to read and use the information gathered.

    boom Easy Windows Optimizing

    Advanced Windows Care
    Computer Optimizing in Layman Terms

    Supported Windows – All

I have been using Advanced Windows Care since it first came out and have been very pleased with IO Bits creation. I can’t say enough about this program, it’s simple to use, efficient, and very capable of taking on the role of multiple programs combined together. It is the #1 most popular system utility on download.com. Here’s the a direct quote from IO Bit website.

"Advanced WindowsCare Personal provides a convenient way for non-technical users to perform routine maintenance and apply system optimization tweaks without the need to become a computer geek. "

Advanced Windows Care may not be the best spyware search and defend program, it’s not the best temporary file clean up (see lesson one for this), and it is not the best computer optimizing program out there, at least not yet. But what it is the best at, is being able run a combination of 6 to 10 programs all in one little program. It does an over the top clean up, repair, protect, and optimize for your computer in 2 to 3 minutes time. Your other option is to download the best programs, and spend the entire day running each program one at a time. So I think 2 or 3 minutes of time is very worth the time you save by running this powerhouse software. » Read the rest of the entry..

    Supported Windows – All

The reason I have chosen to start, Computer Optimizing in Layman Terms, with Ccleaner, is for one reason, it’s an amazing program, much like a nuke aimed at junk on your computer. The true name of this program is Crap Cleaner. It does just what the names says, it cleans up all the crap on your computer that a user accumulates automatically by just using the computer.

Did you realize that by turning on your computer, your operating system will have created several log files and temp files that are just junk that pile up, not to mention all the files that pile up when you open a program. By far the biggest culprit of unnecessary junk files, is going online and surfing around. I have seen some computers with millions of files just sitting in these temp areas, slowing down the computer and causing problems.

So on that note, lets begin with the first step – Installing Ccleaner » Read the rest of the entry..
