This guide is short and sweet and to help people optimize and speed up their WordPress websites, or a Database driven website such as Joomla, Drupal, etc, and to avoid a possible Account has Exceeded it’s CPU Quota screen from their Webhost. These simple steps will keep your website running smooth, and make the website more responsive which results in a happier surfing experience for your visitors. If you run WordPress you should have no reason for not keeping your Database Optmized, seeing as there is a plugin that does it for you in a few seconds. The only technical aspect of using the plugin is to download it and activating it in your WordPress Back office.
Example Webhost Message:

If you are currently experiencing this problem, just follow these steps and then wait for your website to be available again. This is result of your Database getting congested, to large in size, not optimized, or it has several errors not allowing the database to function properly all of which will take more CPU power from the computer that is hosting it. Most, if not all, shared webhosters will cut you off if you website is taking to much of the computers processing power.
Here is how to avoid the problem, or fix the problem, which ever applies to you. This guide has two parts, people with WordPress, and people without wordpress who have cpanel or some way to access PhpMyAdmin.
Lets start with the fix for WordPress Users.
1. Download the Plugin Optimize DB and Upload it and Install it in your admin back office.
2. Once installed, goto the Manage Tab, and then click Optimize DB, and let it scan your Database. After it has finished checking your Database click Optimize Now.

That’s all there is to it for WordPress users. I run this about twice a day, I notice when I am doing website changes, writing articles and cleaning up comments that my database can get quite large. This is easy to do and only takes a few seconds.
Guide for people who Don’t use WordPress on their website
1. Log into your webhost Cpanel and locate PhpMyAdmin.
2. Locate the Database that is in use on your website
3. Once the Database is opened you will see a screen like this, you want to click Chceck All at the bottom of the screen, then change the drop down box With Selected to Optimize Table.

4. Let is run, takes a few seconds to work. That’s all you have to do to keep your Database cleaned and the CPU usage low on your website.
